Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Claims Team Lead for Workers Compensation in California. You will supervise a team of claims examiners and technical staff, guiding adjudication, quality reviews, and escalation appeals to ensure exceptional client service.

The ideal candidate has deep California WC claims experience, strong leadership, and jurisdictional knowledge, with a track record of developing high-performing teams and providing strategic guidance to clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; licenses as required; professional certifications as applicable.
• Six years of California workers' compensation claims management experience; two years supervision.
• California jurisdictional knowledge required; SIP certification required or must be obtained within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a team of workers compensation claims examiners and technical staff.
• Identifies trends, problems, and issues; recommends actions and coordinates with management projects.
• Provides technical/jurisdictional direction to examiner reports on claims adjudication.
• Compiles reviews and analyzes management reports and takes appropriate action.
• Performs quality review on claims in compliance with audit requirements and standards.
• Acts as second level of appeal; implements final disposition of appeals.
• Monitors reserves on high cost claims and claims beyond examiner authority.
• Maintains client relationship and provides written resumes of specific claims as requested.
