Job summary

Mike’s Bikes is hiring an Assortment & Retail Experience Manager for California. You’ll decide SKUs per store, balance regional stock, and lead merchandising across our stores with a strong focus on customer experience.

You’ll spend time on the sales floor, partner with vendors, and mentor staff while aligning with the Director of Purchasing. A hybrid schedule is expected across California stores.

Qualifications

• Ideally 3+ years of experience in merchandising, assortment planning, buying, or multi-store retail management.
• Strong working knowledge of bicycles and cycling gear.
• Experience reading sales and inventory data to drive SKU and stock decisions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including training staff.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Own overall seasonal assortment and brand decisions in collaboration with regional counterpart.
• Identify frontline consumer trends and potential new brands or products and present to leadership.
• Set store inventory levels, stock depth guidelines, and input for weekly allocations.
• Monitor in-stock rates, store turns, and minimize aged inventory across stores.
• Own store-to-store transfers and inventory balancing within the region.
• Lead merchandising standards, floor sets, displays, and product launches in stores.
• Support vendor programs, visits, events, and merchandising support at store level.
• Contribute to regional department strategy and financial performance (revenue, margin, ABP).
• Describe KPIs and measure success with leadership; ensure alignment with buying cycle.
