Job summary

1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC is seeking a Buyer to manage purchasing across direct and indirect spend, developing sourcing strategies and fostering strong supplier relationships.

The role partners with Operations, Merchandising, and Finance to oversee inventory, BOMs, and on-time shipments, supporting profitability in a multi-channel gourmet gifts business. Hybrid schedule offered with in-office and remote days.

Qualifications

• Proficient with ERP systems and manufacturing requirements.
• Strong Excel and data analysis for procurement.
• Experience with food ingredients or food industry is ideal but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage flow of inventory according to projections and schedules.
• Source, negotiate, and manage direct/indirect spend with suppliers.
• Maintain BOM accuracy and cost controls across categories.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Operations, and Finance on sourcing decisions.
• Support supplier negotiations and long-term contracts; identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure on-time shipments and adherence to budgets.
