Job summary

Ascot Group is seeking a Business Systems Analyst in a hybrid office setting in Hartford, CT. The role focuses on bridging business stakeholders with technology teams, supporting insurance operations, data quality, and system integrations while embracing AI-enabled tools and agile practices.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in business analysis, strong data reconciliation skills, and knowledge of P&C insurance workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or technical field; professional certifications (CPCU, PMI-PBA, IIBA) are a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as business/systems analyst.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum software delivery teams.
• Experience writing user stories and developing acceptance criteria.
• Knowledge of P&C insurance industry with underwriting/claims operations preferred.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with data reconciliation across systems.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to define requirements, analyze operational impacts, support product enhancements, and improve claims and policy servicing processes.
• Performs requirements analysis, validation, and verification, ensuring that requirement documents are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, and unambiguous.
• Utilizes techniques to elicit requirements – interviews, surveys, workshops, analysis.
• Participate in Agile delivery teams, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, requirements elaboration, sprint reviews, and retrospective activities.
• Work with Product Owners, developers, testers, and stakeholders to ensure user stories and acceptance criteria are clearly defined.
• Facilitate requirements workshops and support Agile ceremonies for successful delivery.
• Identifies improvement opportunities and recommends solutions to enhance processes.
• Contributes to test plans/matrices/criteria for QA and acceptance testing.
• Supports change management and training materials for new products/systems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects and contribute to a collaborative culture aligned with The Ascot Way.
