Job summary

The Judicial Council of California is seeking a Fiscal Supervisor in the Budget Services office to oversee statewide budget activities for all trial courts. The role manages staff, budget development, revenue administration, and compliance with statutes and council policies.

The position emphasizes producing accurate revenue projections, maximizing branch revenues, and ensuring program integrity across multiple funds. Hybrid work is offered with in-person days at SF or Sacramento offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of professional experience in accounting, finance, budget analysis, or contract administration, including one (1) year in supervision.
• Juris doctor, MBA, or master’s degree with two (2) years of experience, including one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Experience substituting education for degree or related field may be substituted year-for-year.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fund administration for multiple judicial branch funds.
• Oversee guidance and technical assistance to trial courts on enhanced collections and revenue distribution.
• Oversee implementation and annual reporting for Funds Held on Behalf of the Trial Courts.
• Oversee trial court budget process activities and reimbursement categories.
• Oversee development of trial court funding requests and legislative analyses.
• Provide guidance and oversight to staff in the Court Support Unit.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or directly related field

Juris doctor, MBA, or master’s degree in finance, contract administration, or related field
