Job summary

Anoka County in Minnesota invites applications for a Budget Analyst to support the preparation, maintenance, and analysis of the county budget. You will organize financial data, develop budget reports, monitor spending, and conduct cost-benefit analyses to help leadership improve efficiency and safeguard public funds.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2,080 annual hours of related experience in accounting, finance, budget or closely related field.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

Update and maintain the budget model and analyze budget trends.
Coordinate with leadership and participate in annual budget preparation.
Review proposals for completeness, accuracy and compliance.
Vet funding requests for merit and authenticity.
Prepare budget reports and fund balance analyses.
Monitor adherence to budgeted levels and fund balances.
