Job summary

Fuss & O’Neill is seeking a Bridge Engineer in Boston, MA to lead bridge design on multi-disciplinary projects and ensure safe, resilient, and efficient structures across New England.

The role is hybrid, combining in‑office collaboration with remote work, with a minimum of 5 years in bridge engineering and a Civil Engineering degree focusing on structural design. Excellent communication and coordination skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in bridge engineering and design.
• Familiarity with regional DOTs (NHDOT, MaineDOT, MassDOT, VTrans) strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation is desirable.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute bridge design efforts on multi‑disciplinary projects.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and support staff to develop design calculations and bridge plans.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers in design tasks and project development.
• Ensure compliance with project budgets, schedules, and all QC/QA protocols.
• Perform site visits and bridge inspections during design and construction phases as needed.
