Job summary

Abacus is seeking a Bookkeeper | Client Services to join our Accounting Services team in a role supporting multiple clients with day-to-day bookkeeping, accounting, financial reporting, and client service. The ideal candidate has strong bookkeeping fundamentals, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Growth into a Senior position is possible based on performance and client service skills.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of bookkeeping or related accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping and general accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop preferred.
• Public accounting, CAS, or outsourced accounting experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for assigned CAS clients.
• Record financial transactions and maintain accurate general ledgers.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, as applicable.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Review financial data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Serve as a day-to-day accounting contact for assigned clients.
• Respond to routine client questions and elevate complex matters when appropriate.
• Maintain organized documentation and complete work in accordance with GAAP and firm standards.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to process and workflow improvements.
