Onward Search is seeking a Book Designer to support its creative team in New York City. This temporary role requires at least 3 years of book design experience, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, and strong typography and layout skills.

Onsite Monday-Thursday with remote Fridays optional. Responsibilities include developing layouts, preparing production files, presenting concepts, and collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional book design experience.
• Proficiency in typography, color, and layout.
• Strong knowledge of print production processes.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine layouts for hardcover and paperback books.
• Prepare mechanical files for production.
• Present design concepts to art directors and editors for feedback.
• Collaborate with team and external departments to meet deadlines.
• Support the design team with book development tasks.
