Job summary

Community Refugee and Immigration Services in Columbus, OH is seeking a full-time Family Support Specialist to work with birth-to-three families. The role is hybrid with home visits and virtual client meetings, coordinating IFSPs and services.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s in a related field, have experience with young children, and possess strong English communication. Ohio driver license required; bilingual skills preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field as listed in the job post.
• Two years experience working with children birth through 3 years.
• Have a service coordination credential issued by Ohio Dept. of Health or obtain upon hire.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong computer skills including Early Track data system and portable tech.
• Manage multiple tasks and stay organized.
• Ability to work independently within a team.
• Valid Ohio driver's license, liability insurance, and transportation.
• Background check required.
• Prefer experience with Help Me Grow/Ohio Early Intervention.
• Prefer bilingual skills (Spanish, Somali, Arabic) or other client languages.
• Prefer experience providing developmental evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Screen children and refer to providers; provide support and education.
• Conduct home visits to screen children and coordinate services.
• Create and implement an IFSP for each family.
• Coordinate referrals, evaluations, monitoring, and advocacy services.
• Develop, update, and maintain client records.
• Attend trainings, HMG and CRIS meetings, conferences, workshops.
• Complete skills inventory with clinical supervisor approval.
