Pathways Personnel, Inc. is partnering with a prestigious San Francisco law firm to hire an experienced Billing Specialist. The role supports attorneys in a hybrid work setting, with 2/3 in-office and 2/3 remote work arrangements in downtown San Francisco.

Responsibilities include preparing and finalizing client invoices, resolving billing discrepancies, maintaining records, and supporting month-end close. Requires 5+ years in law-firm billing and proficiency in Aderant or Elite.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of billing experience in professional services, preferably law.
• High school diploma or GED; additional accounting coursework preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal billing software (Aderant/Elite).
• Strong knowledge of billing procedures, e-billing, and financial reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and finalize client invoices, including complex billing arrangements.
• Research billing discrepancies, process adjustments, and resolve invoicing issues.
• Maintain client billing records, matter information, rates, and e-billing platforms.
• Coordinate payment applications, accounts receivable inquiries, and cost recovery activities.
• Assist with month-end closing, time entry corrections, and financial reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reports and billing analyses for special projects.
• Support attorneys and staff with billing systems and provide supervisory coverage as needed.
