Progressive invites a defense attorney to join our hybrid litigation team focused on commercial auto and bodily injury matters. You will represent Progressive insureds and/or Progressive Insurance Companies in court and arbitration, handling cases from start to finish.

The role involves preparation of pleadings, motions, and trial briefs, as well as negotiating settlements and reporting to claims partners. Travel is occasional for training and meetings.

Qualifications

• Juris doctor degree or Master of Laws (LLM) and a minimum of 2 years general/auto litigation experience.
• Admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Handle cases from beginning to end in auto and BI litigation.
• Prepare legal pleadings, motions, statements, and trial briefs; negotiate settlements.
• Prepare timely reports on litigation with claims partners and clients.
• Analyze written discovery, depositions, medical records, and assess claim value for risk exposure.
