Job summary

Gifthealth is seeking a Benefits Specialist to administer our employee benefits programs including health, welfare, retirement, and leave of absence programs. You will ensure accurate enrollment, maintain benefits data in the HRIS, and provide guidance to employees and managers while supporting open enrollment.

The role supports Total Rewards and HR teams to align benefits with organizational goals, maintain compliance, and deliver exceptional service to employees.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HR or related field OR additional years of equivalent experience required.
• 2–4 years of full-time benefits support/administration experience required.
• Experience supporting open enrollment activities and working with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators required.
• Experience administering FMLA, medical, personal, and disability leaves with documentation and coordination with employees/vendors required.
• Knowledge of health and welfare benefits, retirement plans (e.g., 401(k)), and leave programs including regulations like FMLA, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA required.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required.
• Attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and compliance across systems required.

Responsibilities

• Administers benefit enrollments and eligibility in the HRIS with timely, accurate data.
• Provides employee and manager support for plan provisions, enrollments, changes, claims issues, and guidance.
• Coordinates enrollments and life events with carriers and vendors; distributes materials.
• Performs quality audits of benefits data for accuracy and compliance.
• Manages leave programs (FMLA, medical, personal, disability) with proper documentation and tracking.
• Interprets FMLA/ADA requirements and advises employees/managers accordingly.
• Supports retirement/open enrollment activities and 401(k) inquiries; handles catch-up contributions and new-hire orientations.
