Job summary

Ray Thomas, a top-ranked national law firm, seeks a Business Development Coordinator in Chicago, IL. The hybrid role combines in-office collaboration three days per week with remote work, supporting growth across the marketing team and advancing client engagement.

You will coordinate BD initiatives, craft pitches and materials, and manage events, awards, and communications while building strong attorney relationships and contributing to firm-wide growth.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in marketing, business development, communications, or professional services.
• Law firm experience preferred
• Strong writing, communication, and project management skills
• Advanced proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with legal directories, rankings, pitches, proposals, or events is a plus

Responsibilities

• Coordinate business development and marketing projects from planning through completion
• Help organize client events, webinars, sponsorships, dinners, and receptions
• Prepare customized pitches, presentations, and RFP responses
• Coordinate Chambers, Legal 500, Law360, and other award submissions
• Conduct research on prospective clients, industries, competitors, and market trends
• Maintain attorney biographies, practice descriptions, experience lists, and marketing materials
• Draft internal and external communications, newsletters, announcements, and social media content
• Build strong working relationships with attorneys and serve as a reliable business development resource
• Maintain referral, mailing list, experience, and business development data
