Job summary

General Motors (GM) is seeking an experienced battery systems engineer to design and validate high‑voltage lithium‑ion battery packs for future GM EVs. You will work across vehicle, propulsion, cell, thermal, electrical, safety, and analysis teams to converge on robust pack requirements and architectures.

You will perform engineering trade‑offs, develop analytical models in Excel and MATLAB, and partner with design, validation, and manufacturing teams to ensure programs meet performance and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in engineering roles related to automotive propulsion systems or battery engineering.
• Experience developing analytical models using Excel and MATLAB.
• Experience in systems engineering and delivering concepts from prototype to production.

Responsibilities

• Create cutting-edge battery systems and pack architectures for GM EVs.
• Collaborate with vehicle, propulsion, cell, thermal, electrical, safety, and analysis teams to align requirements.
• Perform trade-off studies to select optimal pack designs and support cross-team decisions.
• Work with GM design and validation teams to verify designs against program requirements.
