Job summary

Mezzanine in Egg Harbor is seeking a dynamic Front of House team member to join as a hybrid bartender/server. The role blends bartending and serving duties based on business needs, delivering exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate brings a passion for food and beverage knowledge, and strong communication skills. This seasonal position may start mid-April and end October, with housing options discussed at interview.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a bartender and/or server preferred.
• Knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and food pairings.
• Fundamental industry knowledge with willingness to grow beyond basics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure, while maintaining professionalism.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25-50 lbs during shifts.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and guest preferences.
• Preparation may include batching cocktails, infusing alcohol, garnishes.
• Engage with guests, provide recommendations, and ensure an excellent bar experience.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including restocking liquor, garnishes, and supplies.
• Check customer identification and follow all alcohol service regulations.
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately.
• Answer the restaurant phone, process customer requests or transfer to appropriate person.
• Assist in open & closing procedures; done to a high standard.
• Perform side work and weekly cleaning.
• Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Take food and drink orders accurately and deliver items in a timely manner.
• Provide menu knowledge and make recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Ensure tables are properly set, clean, and well-maintained.
• Process payments and handle transactions efficiently.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service.
