Citi is hiring a Python Engineer in Irving, TX to join a collaborative development team building Python-based applications powering critical business solutions.

You will work on backend services, REST APIs, and data processing with PySpark, while following modern software engineering practices at global scale. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to grow technically within a leading financial institution.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in Python and object-oriented design principles.
• Experience using PySpark in distributed computing environments.
• Ability to build and consume REST APIs and web services in backend development.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases; able to write and troubleshoot queries.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Python applications across the full software development lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend services with performance and reliability in mind.
• Write clean, well-documented code that is maintainable by the team.
• Design and execute automated tests to ensure software behaves as expected.
• Support database development tasks, including SQL queries and data integration.
• Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve code quality.
• Collaborate with analysts, QA, and developers in Agile ceremonies to deliver on time.
