Job summary

American University is seeking an Audio-Visual Technician for the AV Daytime Operations team in Washington, DC. You will deliver on-site and remote support for classrooms and events, troubleshoot AV equipment, and coordinate hybrid and Zoom Room setups to ensure high-quality streaming and presentations.

You will train faculty and staff on classroom technologies, participate in ongoing equipment maintenance, and support a diverse range of instructional methods within a dynamic university

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of relevant AV classroom or event support experience.
• Within one year of starting, obtain Extron AVA and ECS certifications (and EDSP if possible).

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote AV tech support for classrooms and events.
• Set up, test, operate, and maintain audiovisual equipment.
• Train faculty, staff, and students in using classroom technologies.
