Job summary

Meridian International Center is seeking an Audiovisual (AV) Specialist to support setup, operation, and troubleshooting of AV technologies for meetings, trainings, and hybrid events. This part-time role (20 hours per week) is located in Washington, DC, with residency requirements for MD, DC, or VA and possible partial remote work.

You will handle live event production, livestreams, and AV system maintenance, collaborating with a skilled team to deliver high-quality audio and video experiences

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience supporting AV systems, platforms, and video conferencing in a professional services environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and break down audiovisual equipment for meetings and live events.
• Operate sound systems; manage microphones, video displays, monitors, recording equipment, mixing consoles, and associated cabling.
• Conduct audio, video, and system performance testing before meetings and events to ensure optimal operation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot AV equipment issues during meetings and events.
• Maintain AV documentation, procedures, standards, and best practices.
• Track, organize, store, and maintain audiovisual equipment inventory.
• Support the technical execution of live, hybrid, and virtual events from setup through completion.
• Operate audio and video mixing systems, cameras, lighting equipment, and recording systems for live productions.
• Assist with managing livestream broadcasts using platforms such as Zoom, Teams, Qlab, restream.io and similar streaming technologies.
• Provide on-site technical support during meetings and events to ensure successful production outcomes.
• Set up and operate professional audio and video systems.
• Support the operation and troubleshooting of enterprise audio and video systems using Q-SYS, Dante, and NDI technologies.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot PTZ cameras, Mac OS X and Windows based audiovisual systems.
• Assist with microphone placement and audio reinforcement for speakers and presenters.
• Respond to help desk requests and provide basic technical support for hardware, software, and collaboration technologies
• Troubleshoot and resolve user issues or elevate appropriately
• Responsible for completing all organizational administrative responsibilities in a timely manner and meeting all organizational administrative deadlines
• Other duties as assigned
