Job summary

HTC Global Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Automotive Structures Design & Release Engineer in Dearborn, MI.

You will lead design activities from concept to vehicle launch, focusing on upper body sheet metal structures such as roof panels and pillar assemblies, while ensuring compliance with regulatory, durability, weight, and timing targets. The role requires strong CAD skills (CATIA V5/V6, 3DX) and collaboration with purchasing, manufacturing, and CAE teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Structures Design & Release Engineer.
• Experience designing, developing, and releasing automotive sheet metal components from concept through production.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design activities from pre-program through vehicle launch.
• Develop component designs that meet customer and manufacturing requirements.
• Ensure designs meet FMVSS, NVH, and safety targets.
• Interface with suppliers, purchasing, and cost estimation teams.
• Create and release 3-D CAD designs that meet system requirements.
• Support tooling kickoff and prototype vehicle build for structures.
• Manage engineering changes to meet cost, weight, and durability targets.
