Job summary

Beckhoff Automation USA is seeking a Technical Support Specialist focused on Automation to join our Engineering Services team. You will provide high-level support for TwinCAT and related technologies, troubleshoot complex software issues, and collaborate with global teams.

The role offers hybrid work from Beckhoff US HQ in Savage, MN, travel up to 20%, and opportunities to grow technically while supporting our differentiated automation platform.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience in automation or software support.
• Strong understanding of automation technologies and software development.
• Familiarity with web technologies (CSS, HTML5) and Windows/Linux OS.
• Knowledge of communication protocols (TCP/IP, MQTT, etc.).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead team-based problem-solving.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level technical support for TwinCAT software and related technologies.
• Provide onsite and remote support to customer machine/control systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer software control issues using advanced tools and techniques.
• Escalate problems for other technicians, Product Managers, and Beckhoff Headquarters.
• Communicate product functionality and quality issues clearly.
• Record, track, and document support requests through final resolution.
• Participate in on-call support on rotation to triage after-hours requests.
• Provide customer and internal training.
• Contribute to internal knowledge base and wiki.
• Mentor and lead team members in resolving large-scale or complex issues.
• Continuously expand skillset and adapt to new challenges.
