Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking an Audit Director (Director III) in Austin. This senior role leads the OIG Audit Division, directing strategic audits across Health and Human Services programs.

Telework is eligible, with a hybrid in-office schedule and travel up to 25%. The position requires governance expertise, CPA/CIA/CFE/CISA/CGFM certifications, and at least six years of auditing experience including three in leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and six years of auditing experience, including three years of supervisory experience.
• Certifications: CPA, CIA, CFE, CISA, or CGFM.
• Advanced degrees may substitute for experience at hiring discretion.

Responsibilities

• Oversee audits and provide leadership, planning, and coordination of performance audits.
• Direct audit project risk assessments and ensure evidence supports audit objectives.
• Develop goals, strategic plans, budgets, and policies; monitor performance and provide operational enhancements.
• Hire, develop, coach, and evaluate professional staff; manage performance plans and training.
• Coordinate with internal audit directors and executives to ensure comprehensive audit coverage across all HHS agencies.
