Job summary

The University of Texas at Dallas Audit and Advisory Services Department seeks an experienced Audit Manager to plan, lead, and supervise audits, advisory engagements, investigations, and special projects that bolster governance, risk management, and internal controls.

In a small audit department, you will be a strategic leader and hands-on contributor, supervising staff and interns, coordinating with stakeholders, and reporting to the CAE with recommendations and results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field and 6 total years of related experience, including 3 years of auditing.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience; CPA, CIA, CISA, or CFE credentials required.
• Preferred: 3+ years of auditing in higher education, a state or federal agency, or a large professional services firm.

Responsibilities

• Plan, perform, and manage risk-based assurance engagements per standards.
• Lead audits with varying complexity: financial, operational, compliance and other engagements.
• Conduct engagement risk assessments and develop audit programs.
• Perform audit testing, evaluate internal controls, and document evidence.
• Review workpapers for accuracy and conformance with standards.
• Draft audit reports and coordinate with management for corrective action.
• Perform follow-up procedures to assess implementation of actions.
• Escalate significant risks and governance concerns to the CAE promptly.
