Job summary

SanMar in Issaquah is seeking an Associate Technical Designer to manage garment fit specifications and translate designers' vision into production with minimal supervision.

You will maintain standard fit specs, audit prototypes, create tech packs in Adobe Illustrator, and coordinate with Design, Development, and Merchandising teams and overseas suppliers to meet deadlines. Hybrid work with office presence required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in design or merchandising or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in Technical Design in apparel industry.
• Knowledge of garment construction, material construction and properties, and pattern-making.
• Strong understanding of pattern work assessment and design-to-production process.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standard fit specifications within each category to ensure consistency.
• Measure proto samples to ensure accuracy and audit prototypes.
• Create and maintain tech packs; update sketches in Illustrator.
• Initiate fit sessions, model selection, and scheduling.
• Communicate technical design specs and due dates to cross-functional teams.
• Work with overseas suppliers to meet deadlines and provide construction details.
