Job summary

Avidity Biosciences, Inc. is seeking an Associate Scientist I to join the Analytical and Formulation group in San Diego, CA. The role focuses on clinical and commercial formulation development of AOC drug products and substance, with collaboration across biology and chemistry teams.

The candidate should have strong analytical and biophysical characterization experience, and will work in a hybrid setup with remote data processing and documentation supported from the San Diego site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s) in chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical sciences or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial experience (3 years for Master’s).
• Experience in formulation development and in-use compatibility studies.
• Hands-on with analytical methods for protein biologics including mAbs/ADCs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and conduct formulation stability studies for mAb and AOC forms.
• Perform developability assessments using predictive analytical methods.
• Prepare buffers, manage lab supplies, and coordinate instrument maintenance.
• Conduct in-use compatibility studies for IV and SC administration.
• Support drug substance/product development activities and documentation.
• Present data at team and cross-functional meetings.
