The position blends academic advising with program leadership, coordinating with deans, admissions offices, and health-professions schools to support students toward medical careers.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years’ experience advising undergraduate students required; advising on careers in health professions preferred.
• Experience creating and leading programs and events in an academic setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with students, alumni, and faculty and build relationships with campus partners.
• Understanding Georgetown’s Jesuit and Catholic identity.

Responsibilities

• Designs, coordinates and oversees a pre-health advising program for the university.
• Manages the Early Acceptance Program with Georgetown University School of Medicine.
• Chairs the Pre-Medical Recommendation Committee and edits letters of recommendation for health schools.
• Maintains close relationships with admissions deans of health professions schools.
• Coordinates and manages the work of the pre-health advising team.
• Interacts with students, alumni and faculty, resolving conflicts with tact and diplomacy.
