Job summary

TRAC Intermodal is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to join our Legal team reporting to the General Counsel. This role advises senior leadership and helps shape the company's legal, regulatory, and risk management strategies.

You will handle litigation, claims, and collections, draft and negotiate agreements, and manage outside counsel and insurers. The role requires NJ Bar admission and 3–5 years of relevant experience, with a hybrid schedule in Princeton, NJ.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor required.
• Bar membership in New Jersey.
• 3–5 years of experience in litigation, collections, claims management, and insurance coverage.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to learn and use contract management systems and other tech tools.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters with attention to detail and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation, claims and collections and support corporate, regulatory and operational legal matters.
• Advise senior leadership on material exposures, litigation strategy, insurance, and indemnification matters, with practical guidance for a dynamic equipment leasing business.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, settlements, releases, confidentiality agreements, and other documents.
• Research and analyze litigation, collection matters, insurance, and commercial activity with clear recommendations.
• Manage outside counsel, insurers, internal partners, and other third parties.
• Identify legal and regulatory issues, assist with policy development, and partner with business teams to implement strategic decisions.
