Job summary

Sally Beauty seeks an Associate Buyer in Plano, TX for a developmental, hybrid role reporting to the Support Center at Legacy West. You’ll help manage a portion of the category, work with Buyers and cross-functional teams to maximize sales and margin, and contribute to long-term growth.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in Merchandising/Planning/Finance, proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, and a Bachelor’s degree; JDA experience is a plus as you build strategic plans and vendor negotiations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years Merchandising, Planning and Allocation, or Finance experience.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
• JDA experience would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaboratively builds and executes strategic business plans for the total omni channel to ensure overall success of the category to achieve company objectives.
• Works with vendor and cross functional teams to maximize first to market approach of on trend products, and pricing strategy for the assigned category.
• Supports category management by researching and analyzing data to provide a concise merchandising focus and identify new products and trends.
• Contributes to and supports the category management process to achieve sales and margin objectives and drives go-to-market strategy.
• Ensures promotions are effective.
• Partners with pricing team to maintain competitive position.
• Negotiates terms with vendors to reduce costs and increase margins.
• Manages product lifecycle with exit strategies for slow moving items and discontinuations.
• Attends vendor meetings and tradeshow presentations to identify sales opportunities.
