GAI Consultants Inc. is seeking an Assistant Engineering Manager for its Civil and Environmental Engineering team.

The role focuses on managing civil design, permitting, and staff; leading calculations, drawings, and project deliverables while developing proposals and monitoring budgets. The candidate will coordinate with internal leaders and clients across multisector projects, with travel to offices and meetings as required.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred; multi-state reciprocity a plus.
• 5–10 years of relevant field experience in civil/environmental projects.
• Experience leading staff and managing budgets.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design civil engineering tasks such as site grading and drainage; develop permitting.
• Lead technical work, staff planning, budget/schedule management, QA/QC reviews.
• Prepare proposals with scope, budget, and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Prepare site reports, narratives, meeting minutes, and project memorandums.
• Coordinate with engineering leads and clients; travel to meetings as needed.
