Job summary

CFS is seeking an Assistant Controller in the Atlanta area to work with the CFO and Controller in a highly collaborative environment. The role focuses on developing and improving accounting processes, procedures, and controls within a lean structure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required or preferred (see description).
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Proven success as an Assistant Controller or similar role.
• Strong background in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and XLOOKUPs.
• Collaborative, adaptable, detail-oriented and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close, financial reporting, and accounting operations.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and oversee account reconciliations.
• Partner with CFO/Controller on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Assist with process improvements, internal controls, and accounting best practices.
• Support audits, reporting requirements, and special projects.
• Collaborate with outsourced accounting partners responsible for AP and other functions.
