Job summary

CFS in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an Assistant Corporate Controller to join a growing accounting and finance team. This newly created role partners with the Corporate Controller to scale the finance function and drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers hybrid work with onsite presence in Grand Rapids and a clear path for career advancement. You will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and develop staff while mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA certification and/or public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge including GAAP research and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Corporate Controller on day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Assist with preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes with timeliness and accuracy.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff.
• Research and document technical accounting matters and GAAP implementations.
• Provide guidance on complex accounting transactions including revenue recognition and acquisitions.
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and scalability.
• Coordinate external audits and support budgeting and forecasting.
