Job summary

GFT Infrastructure, Inc. in Chicago, IL seeks a Designer to support architectural design activities with a strong emphasis on documentation, modeling, and cost estimation. You will prepare project documents, perform takeoffs, gather product information, and help with drawings, schedules, and specs.

The role requires a Bachelors in Architecture or related field and at least two years of experience. Hybrid work is available, with potential travel to client sites and documentation review as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in architecture.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
• Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Enscape, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project documents including plans, details, and initial setup work.
• Generate takeoffs for cost estimates and perform architectural calculations.
• Gather product information and cut sheets for estimating and specs.
• Support studies, reports, and routine technical document preparation.
• Assist with drawing set up, schedules, plans, elevations, sections, and specs.
