Job summary

GSAPC in Montclair, New Jersey is seeking an Intermediate Architect with approximately 5–10 years of professional experience to join our growing team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated architect to take increasing responsibility for project development while working directly on a wide variety of project types.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• 5–10 years of professional architectural experience.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of building construction, detailing, and building systems.
• Working knowledge of NYC/State Building Codes, New Jersey Rehabilitation Subcode, ADA standards, and local regs.
• Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents using Revit.
• Assist in programming, schematic design, design development, CDs, bidding, and construction administration.
• Coordinate architectural work with structural, MEP, civil, landscape, and specialty consultants.
• Participate in client meetings, coordination meetings, and project presentations.
• Conduct field investigations, existing conditions surveys, and construction observations.
• Prepare code analyses and assist with permit applications and agency submissions.
• Coordinate project documentation to maintain quality, consistency, and schedules.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and contractor requests during construction.
• Mentor junior architectural staff and provide technical guidance.
