Job summary

ECHO Incorporated is expanding its Accounts Receivable team in Illinois. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will own the full receivables cycle for our largest customer, from cash application to deduction resolution, ensuring timely, accurate remittance processing.

This hybrid role combines work from home with on-site collaboration at our Lake Zurich facility, offering a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounts receivable experience with large retail customers is required.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and reporting.
• Experience with customer portals, EDI, and deduction management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve, review, and apply daily customer payments and remittance detail from the customer’s portal, EDI, and lockbox sources.
• Research customer deductions and coordinate resolution with sales and operations.
• Submit disputes within required dispute windows and monitor outcomes.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements to reduce deductions and errors.
• Apply AR payments, adjustments, and journal entries in the ERP system.
• Prepare non-inventory invoices/credit memos and store them on the network.
