Job summary

Southern Company is seeking an Application Developer to build and support business-critical applications, ensuring alignment with operational and strategic goals. The role emphasizes collaboration with business partners to deliver outstanding results and innovation, with hybrid work options (2–3 days onsite) at GPC Headquarters, Atlanta, GA or APC Headquarters, Birmingham, AL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, MIS, business, or related field.
• Demonstrated technical understanding of how application frameworks and other technologies can meet and exceed business requirements.
• Comprehensive knowledge of business functions and operations within Power Delivery desired.
• Knowledge and experience supporting financial applications desired.
• Development experience with recent Angular version desired.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and how they can be applied to solve business needs.
• Proven history of achieving measurable business results while working through others.
• Proven analytic, critical thinking, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project, development, and support activities within the Contract Activity Management Program.
• Oversee release management and establish comprehensive application lifecycle plans for all application development and support functions.
