Job summary
Slalom is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support a large-scale data modernization initiative, migrating enterprise data from Cloudera to Amazon Redshift. You will develop pipelines, enable cloud transformation, and empower BI.
The ideal candidate has hands-on Cloudera/Hadoop experience, AWS know-how, and strong SQL and data modeling skills. This role follows Eastern Time business hours and requires U.S. citizenship, with collaboration across analytics and reporting teams.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Hands-on with Cloudera, Hadoop ecosystem, or similar big data platforms.
- Experience migrating data from on-premises to cloud data warehouses.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Strong SQL development and data modeling skills.
- Experience with AWS cloud environments.
- Experience supporting BI and reporting solutions.
- Ability to work EST business hours.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines.
- Lead migration from Cloudera/Hadoop to Amazon Redshift.
- Configure, optimize, and monitor ETL/ELT workflows.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to ensure data availability and quality.
- Support reporting and visualization using MicroStrategy and BI tools.
- Create and modify dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Implement data integration across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Troubleshoot data pipelines and performance issues.
- Participate in architecture discussions for cloud modernization.
