Job summary

Slalom is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support a large-scale data modernization initiative, migrating enterprise data assets from Cloudera to Amazon Redshift. You will design and implement data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and BI enablement for analytics across cloud and on-prem environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong Cloudera/Hadoop experience, hands-on Redshift skills, and a track record of building scalable data solutions in AWS.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related data platform roles.
• Hands-on experience with Cloudera, Hadoop ecosystem technologies, or similar big data platforms.
• Experience migrating data from legacy/on-premises platforms to cloud-based data warehouses.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong SQL development and data modeling skills.
• Experience working within cloud environments such as AWS.
• Experience supporting business intelligence and reporting solutions.
• Ability to work EST business hours.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting enterprise analytics initiatives.
• Lead and support migration activities from Cloudera/Hadoop environments to Amazon Redshift.
• Configure, optimize, and monitor ETL/ELT data workflows.
• Collaborate with business and analytics teams to ensure data availability, quality, and performance.
• Support reporting and visualization initiatives utilizing MicroStrategy and other BI platforms.
• Create, enhance, and modify dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Implement data integration solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline, performance, and integration issues.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to cloud modernization efforts.
