Job summary

GEICO is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and datasets powering operational reporting and dashboards. You will work within an agile team to optimize data warehouses, data lakes, and data delivery patterns across multiple environments.

The role requires 5+ years of data engineering/analytics experience, strong SQL, and hands-on work with dbt, GitHub, and Airflow. A hybrid arrangement is expected with on-site presence in Tampa, FL three days per week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data analytics
• Hybrid work requirement: on-site 3 days per week in Tampa, FL or other listed locations
• Experience with data pipelines, data warehouses, data lakes, and data delivery patterns
• Proficient SQL and ability to optimize queries and data models
• Knowledge of SAS migration to modern tools (dbt, Power BI) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and datasets for reporting and dashboards
• Lead testing, validation, and deployment of data delivery solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to model data and ensure scalable architectures
• Perform root cause analysis and performance tuning of pipelines and queries
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in code reviews and testing
