Job summary

BI&A, a Boeing company, is seeking a Mid-level AI Engineer to support mission-driven applications. You will prototype AI solutions, build full-stack apps with Next.js/TypeScript/FastAPI, and deploy via OpenShift. Strong AI framework and Docker experience are expected.

Role requires TS/SCI with CI poly, 9 years of related work, and a background in React/TS, Node or Python, and PostgreSQL. Hybrid work (2–3 onsite days) across DC/VA/MD regions.

Qualifications

• 9 years of relevant experience in CS, data science, and/or software engineering.
• Bachelor’s substituted by 4 years experience; Master’s by 6 years.
• TS/SCI Clearance with Active CI Polygraph.
• Proficiency with at least 1 generative AI framework (e.g., LangChain, haystack, LlamaIndex).
• Strong prompt engineering and management skills.
• Experience with agentic AI solutions, MCP, tool development, and A2A comms.
• Strong React.js and TypeScript, including API integration.
• Backend services and REST APIs with Node.js or Python.
• PostgreSQL data modeling, SQL, migrations, indexing.
• Docker: writing Dockerfiles, building images, troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication translating business needs into tech requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ideate, prototype, and deliver AI-enabled solutions with stakeholders.
• Design, develop, and maintain full stack apps using Next.js, TS, FastAPI, Python.
• Validate data with Pydantic and Zod; deploy apps via OpenShift.
• Investigate production issues across UI, backend, DB, and deployment.
• Collaborate with customers, product owners, and teams to estimate effort.
• Contribute to design reviews, write automated tests, and document tech work.
