Job summary

Cedarville University seeks part-time adjunct instructors to support the undergraduate Art, Design and Theatre program through online and residential (on-campus) course offerings. This hybrid role covers Studio Art, Web Design, and Graphic Design with emphasis on teaching effectiveness and meaningful feedback.

Applicants should hold an MFA in a relevant field (or a BA with MFA pursuit), possess a strong portfolio and teaching experience, and demonstrate excellent written and oral communication.

Qualifications

• Hold an MFA in Studio Art, Graphic Design, or Web Design, or a bachelor's degree with active pursuit of an MFA.
• Demonstrate professional expertise and experience in the discipline, with a professional portfolio.
• Provide documented evidence of successful teaching experience.
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrate competency with online delivery systems, with preference for prior experience using Canvas.
• Qualified applicants must be a born-again Christian.
• Agree to Cedarville University's Doctrinal Statement, Community Covenant, and General Work Place Standards.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in line with course objectives, the syllabus, and department-developed content for the Department of Art, Design, and Theatre
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to motivate progress and support completion of course learning objectives
• Maintain academic credentials and ongoing expertise in the discipline being taught
• Adhere to University instructional standards
