Job summary

Nexteer Automotive seeks a SwaaP Controls Engineer based in Auburn Hills, MI. Hybrid work arrangement allows both home and office presence. No travel required, but relocation within commutable distance is expected.

The role focuses on developing control algorithms, integrating lateral and longitudinal controls, and advancing ADAS functions with rapid prototyping and data-driven calibration. A Master’s degree in a related field is required and experience with MATLAB/Simulink and CarSim is valued.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automotive Systems or related field.
• Experience with signal analysis, Fourier transforms, and stability analysis in control systems.
• Experience with vehicle chassis design and dynamics (CarSim).

Responsibilities

• Develop control algorithms based on predicting driver intent and integrate lateral with longitudinal control.
• Perform simulation and bench testing of algorithms for mechatronic systems and ADAS functions.
• Provide technical leadership for projects involving complex electromechanical systems and rapid prototyping.
