Snapping Shoals EMC is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support accounting operations in a hybrid work environment. The role handles vendor records, invoices, and payment processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.

The ideal candidate has an accounting background, strong data entry and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. Occasional overtime and travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date vendor records with ACH and W-9 details.
• Track invoices, checks and supporting documents for filings.
• Compare invoices, receiving and POs for accuracy.
• Compute clerical accuracy on invoices and resolve discrepancies.
• Obtain approvals to pay invoices via automated workflow.
• Code transactions to GL, dept, project and activity codes.
• Oversee company credit card processes and approvals.
• Prepare Open Payable Report pre-check run and verify amounts.
• Enter and verify all invoice data in the accounting system.
• Process payments and utilize supplier discounts when possible.
• Collect W-9s from new vendors and file 1099s year-end.
• Review Board of Directors Per Diems and related entries.
• Enter power invoices for EMC and purchasing group.
• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies; perform other duties as needed.
