Actus Consulting Group is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support AP functions and general accounting tasks in a hybrid Chicago-area office (3 days in office).

This entry-level role handles expense reimbursements, vendor invoices, and month-end tasks, with training provided. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to work with a small team in a cross-cultural setting, including familiarity with Japanese workflows.

Qualifications

• Less than 3 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic accounting knowledge required; bookkeeping coursework or certification is a plus.
• Intermediate English reading and writing skills.
• Japanese language proficiency preferred (Japanese is the primary language used in the office).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.

Responsibilities

• Process employee expense reports and receipts
• Review, record, and reconcile vendor invoices and general expense invoices
• Perform Accounts Payable (AP) functions, including payment processing and account reconciliation
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation
• Provide administrative support as needed
• Assist with month-end closing activities
