One80 Intermediaries in Peoria Heights, IL seeks an Accounting Specialist to join our growing team. The role covers daily accounting tasks across assigned insurance lines, applying accounting principles to track and report financial data, ensuring timely and accurate activity.

The position is hybrid in Peoria Heights with opportunities to collaborate across departments. Candidates should have an accounting background, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting experience with recording financial transactions and analyzing data.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across levels.
• Strong technical skills in financial accounting and reporting systems.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize based on department needs.

Responsibilities

• Process daily invoice importing for assigned client accounting lines; verify accuracy before posting batches.
• Process daily cash receipt imports; reconcile to bank activity and post to GL.
• Process physical check deposits and track reconciliation to bank and GL.
• Coordinate check requests for payments from policy admin systems.
• Process Direct Bill commission payments; reconcile to carrier payments and follow up.
• Review Accounts Receivable reports for unusual transactions; correct with supervisor.
• Assist with Month End processing and ensure records are timely.
• Record journal entries and reconcile GL accounts; investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for assigned bank accounts.
