Job summary

Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. in Worcester, MA is seeking an Accounting Operations Supervisor to lead a team responsible for premium, loss, commission, cash, receivable and collection accounting processes in a hybrid work arrangement.

You will oversee reconciliations, journal entries, analyses, SOX controls, and tax reporting, while partnering across Finance and operations to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal-control practices.
• Proficiency with Excel and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day execution of assigned premium, loss, commission, cash, receivable, collection, and related accounting processes.
• Review and approve reconciliations, journal entries, financial analyses, and control documentation.
• Oversee the investigation and resolution of discrepancies, aged reconciling items, and interface issues.
• Ensure procedures and documentation are accurate and current; support audits and regulatory requests.
• Coach and develop junior accounting staff; provide performance feedback and development plans.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and automation.
