Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client in Elkridge, MD. The role blends nonprofit and for-profit accounting with GAAP, grants, and extensive use of Business Central. You will lead a dynamic finance team and drive accurate financial reporting.

You will oversee general accounting, manage accruals, budgets, and cash flow, and support audits while ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations. Hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of nonprofit accounting experience.
• Proven experience as Accounting Manager or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
• Manage accruals and prepayments for accurate reporting.
• Lead ad hoc projects and audit support.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, annual financials.
• Collaborate on annual budgeting and planning.
• Oversee grants accounting and grant budgets.
• Forecast cash flow with program VPs and finance systems.
