Job summary

Calibre CPA Group is seeking an Accounting Manager to support a portfolio of nonprofit and church clients in the Washington DC Metro area. You will oversee core accounting functions, ensure GAAP compliance, and help leadership teams with budgeting and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of accounting experience; nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with nonprofit organizations.
• Experience with churches or faith-based organizations preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Close monthly, quarterly, and annual books for multiple clients.
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and reports.
• Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and variance analysis.
• Support audits, tax filings, and grant reporting for nonprofits.
• Mentor junior staff and manage client engagement plans.
• Coordinate payroll, accounts payable, and internal controls.
• Communicate financial information to church leadership and boards.
• Lead process improvements and technology upgrades.
• Maintain relationships with external payroll providers and auditors.
