Job summary

Utah State University is seeking a motivated Accounting Assistant or Accounting Assistant SR to join the Sponsored Programs Accounting (SPA) team within the Office of Research. You will handle post‑award administration, including award setups, journal entries, reconciliations, and invoice support while ensuring compliance with sponsor and university regulations.

Qualifications

• Two years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related experience OR an associate's degree.
• Four years of relevant experience OR a bachelor’s degree.
• Proficiency with Excel/Outlook/Word and strong written/oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Award set ups and journal entries.
• Reconciliations and bill log maintenance.
• Accounts receivables and collections.
• Time and effort reporting and award closeouts.
• Understand and apply federal and state regulations.
