Job summary

Old Republic Bitco is seeking an Accountant to join our Home Office in Davenport, IA. You’ll prepare, analyze, and report financial information to support internal management, external reporting, audit, and regulatory requirements in SAP and U.S. GAAP.

The role focuses on process optimization, strong internal controls, and collaboration with Treasury, Claims, Underwriting, Billing, IT, and Operations. This hybrid position blends in-person teamwork with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, reconcile, and analyze general ledger accounts, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
• Prepare statutory and GAAP financial reports, schedules, and regulatory filings.
• Support accounting for premiums, loss adjustment expenses, reinsurance, investments, and intercompany transactions.
• Analyze financial results, trends, fluctuations, and key business metrics.
• Lead or participate in process improvement, automation, and transformation initiatives.
