Job summary

The University of Miami/UHealth Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Accountant 2 to work in Hybrid in Miami, FL. The Accountant 2 oversees the department’s internal accounting and reporting functions and assists management with fiscal functions including budget formulation and monitoring to ensure funds are available.

Responsibilities include preparing financial reports, analyzing trends, reviewing reimbursements and POs, and supporting year-end processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare balance sheets, P&L statements, and other financial reports.
• Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to forecast future revenues and expenses.
• Reconcile expenditure and revenue accounts; review reimbursements and purchase orders.
• Assist with fiscal year-end processes including accruals and budgeting.
• Provide training and guidance to junior accounting staff and collaborate with vendors and auditors.
